AN ENERGY MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP
4-WEEK PROGRAM

Rapidly creating positively energized leaders, for higher performing, more innovative, and resilient organizations and teams.

 

OVERVIEW

Leveraging EMQ, the extensive MEvolution toolkit, and utilizing the same teaching methodology of MEvolution Founder Sarah Deane’s highly rated WELL18 Stanford Continuing Studies Class, this intentionally created 4-week program provides leaders with the mental muscles and behaviors needed for increased positive relational energy.

Researchers in the Harvard Business Review noted that, “positive relational energy is the most underutilized yet powerful predictor of leadership and organizational success”. Numerous studies demonstrated that leaders who were positive energizers produce substantially higher levels of engagement, lower turnover, and enhanced feelings of well-being among employees. They found that “in organizations, superior shareholder returns occur, and in some of their studies, outcomes exceeded industry averages in profitability and productivity by a factor of four or more.”  

The Challenges of Leadership Today

Leaders today face unprecedented demands. Yet, they are expected to be hubs of inspiration and a source of organizational positive energy, all the while managing highly demanding schedules, high levels of corporate responsibility, and the vastly unknown business landscape of the VUCA environment that has become the norm.

While many leadership programs exist, many of them follow a one-size fits all predetermined framework or syllabus, and lack application in the context of a leader's real life. And with the positively energized leader set to be the next in-demand leadership profile, there lacks data-driven, application-based curriculum that addresses a leader's personal energy-blockers.

To achieve the goal of raising awareness and creating the habits and thinking patterns that empower a positively energized leader, participants experienced a 4-week program, with the Energy Management Quotentit (EMQ) evaluation as a pre-assignment. The group included 20 participants, with a range of ages and varying degrees of leadership levels, from aspiring to experienced leaders.

 

This was a deeply immersive dive inside the behavior patterns of an outdated programming that was keeping me at a very uncomfortable and unhappy status quo.

APPROACH

 

SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION

The intentionally designed curriculum built out each week to cover the techniques needed to plug up the leaders capacity leaks and optimize and increase energy, culminating with how to increase positive relational energy. The program consisted of a 2.5 hour class training per week with their cohort, as well as optional weekly application-based assignments, with optional stretch exercises available to accommodate those wanting to delve deeper into the covered topics.

FLEXIBILITY 

Virtual taught training classes were recorded for those that could not attend, and tools were provided in worksheet and digital tool modes to fit the leaders preferred method of practice. 

PERSONALIZATION

Class topics and content were tailored to the groups EMQ analysis, allowing individual needs to be addressed alongside the benefits of the group setting for motivation, shared perspectives and experiences.

All content and materials were desktop and mobile enabled so that participants could complete work where and how they needed, as well as have availability 24/7 so that they could use the techniques in the moment.

 CONCLUSION

For organizations to build the leaders needed now, and for the future, businesses need to offer programs that 1) address a leader's personal energy-blockers and 2) combine educational content with in-context application.
